Default Trailer ramp photos wanted.

Just bought a trailer for the shows and wanted to see ideas of ramp designs for a tri-cycle tractor like a John Deere B. It already has the two outside ramps and they store under the trailer, it just doesn't have the 3rd ramp i need. Would a tailgate be better, or would a 3rd ramp design be better?

Do you have a picture of the trailer? That may help with suggestions. Altho I have been known to load and unload a tricycle front M onto a trailer using two ramps. It got to be routine doing it but the first two or three times I wasn't sure if I could get off the tractor again. I think it was a vapor lock on my rear. lol

Don't have an actual picture of my trailer, but it's made by Corn Pro and looks exactly like the black one on this link. http://www.cornprotrailers.com/UtilityStandard.html

Coming in at a 90 degree angle, huh? Been there, done that many times...matter of fact, did it this afternoon on a '27 Regular Farmall to carry it to a local Church Fall harvest/halloween festival.
It does cause a lot of back pressure on the back end!!

The first time I saw a fellow load a narrow front tractor with two ramps I was amazed

Now I've gotten used to it after a little practice and it's pretty efficient

I would do the same or use a ditch bank to load in and out of. Another way I loaded was backwards without ay ramps. The M was heavy enough and had large enough tires that it would climb onto and weigh down the back enough to get the fronts to come on.

Just build a 3rd ramp exactly like your other two. That is what I did. Ideally, you would also build another compartment to store it in, but I just strap the 3rd ramp on top of the trailer.

I helped a dealer load a new tractor with no ramps! I was actually the one to drive the tractor on with his instructions. He (actually a low paid gofer) came with a 1/2 ton pickup and a car trailer with 3500 lb axles. The tractor we were loading was a new Chinese built 80 HP tractor with cab and MFWD! Tractor had to weigh at least 8000 lbs. The back of the trailer was low enough that the back tires climbed up on the trailer. There was 1/2" of width to spare between the fenders. Once the back of the tractor was on the trailer, the weight picked the back of the pickup off the ground and then the trailer was low enough to get the front axle on. He then had me back up until most of the weight was centered on the trailer so the pickup didn't squat very much. He then was going to take the load from Cedar Rapids back to Des Moines on the interstate. I only assume he made it.
