DLTX 53 Carb. For JD A


are they hard to rebuild. i have one in pretty bad shape. it has set for 30 years and it was full...

Default DLTX 53 Carb. For JD A

are they hard to rebuild. i have one in pretty bad shape. it has set for 30 years and it was full of rust. I put it in a acid bath and it came pretty clean .

There's a thread there about a rebuilding a DLTX 18 carb for JD.......

Did you have all the little brass plugs out when it was in the acid bath? If not, you need to get them out & give her another trip through the bath....then get the long drills or ream the passages out w/heavy wire-they have to be open, or it won't run....also, you have to get the nozzle out of the center, you won't believe the crud that's in there.
