Default Old Iron and a Trip to Europe?

Beginning to make plans to attend the Allis Chalmers Event in the Netherlands, in September 2010.

I have never been to Europe so any input from members that are have traveled or live there would be very appreciated.

I would like the trip to be mostly centered around old equipment of ALL types, some sightseeing, night life, and maybe a tractor pull would also be fun.

I would like to meet members of the Stak if is possible to make plans with anyone that would like to meet.

Most likely my trip will only be for one week and just me. However my sister and her husband may also come along, but I can always ditch them!!

I think I am going to try to fly into one city and leave from another, and use the rail system to move around a much as possible.

Any input is welcome.

Paul

Paul, Got your message thanks. If you are coming to the Dutch event, why not try to combine this with a stopover in the UK for the Little Casterton working weekend,or, depending on the date, you could visit a few UK stakkers and see some of our stuff.

Chris, what is the date of your AC event please?

We dont know yet of witch tractors we take to the event 2010
Ore we take the Chalmersses ore we take the Rumelys

Its going to be a fantastic event with a lot of vizitors.
At the end of the day there is a huge barbeque and the bar stays open til midnight.

There are tractors, equipment, plowing, discing, cultivating, playing, showing, but also old AC movies.

To the vizitors do not forget to taken your boots with you because you dont know of what kind of weather-forcast there is at that time.

Everybody is welkom.
Wil post some more thinks of what to do overhere more in Holland,

Chris

Thanks

Chris and Richard, when I talk to the travel agent this week, I am going to check on flying into the UK first and end the trip in the Netherlands. Two to three days in each.

Richard,
Which airports in the UK work the best? What are the dates of Little Casterton?

Thanks

Paul

It was sad for the Rumely, that my Hart parr 18-36 was not there, because it always give help to the rumely, and then it wil start, otherwise the basterd wil not start! now your friend Ton Kempenaar wil give a help!

Greetings Rob, see you friday!

Thumbs up Re: Old Iron and a Trip to Europe?

whoa Paul that sounds like quite a trip! but it should be well worth it

There are no shows in my area of the UK around the 11th sept but the week/weekend before is the Great Dorset Steam Fair which is a sight and a half and should be seen if you havent before!? There are always old iron and ACs there and you may even be able to see the Everetts' collection
