Default Bosch BAI Magneto, what does it fit?

Hello, I have had a Bosch BAI ED3V2 magneto in my collection for some time and I am wondering what application it was meant for. It has a trip arm on it but it looks like it could be used as a rotary magneto as well. Any information would be appreciated.
