Such a fine line between stupidity and balls.
How was he breathing in there? Did they get it out? At what point did driving underwater seem like a good idea? Does he know the forklift driver? WAS any alcohol involved? Where can I get one of those trucks? .........So many un-answered questions ![]() ![]()

You do have to modify the engine just a bit, to make it work, but the idea is NOT new... Was used in WWII, in both Europe, and the Far East... basically you need to snorkel the Carb, make the Engine LubeOil System Water tight, make sure that any CrankCase Breather has a Check Valve on it, and have a MIlitary Ignition System that was designed to be water tight.....

I have worked on a bunch of those old GI trucks. Duce and half Reos and 5 ton Macks. 50s vintage.
They have a snorkle on the intake and a compressed air line to all of the gear boxes and the engine. You pull a cable on the dash that opens a valve to let everything pressureize before you dive in, that keeps the water out. The complete electrical system is sealed including all the lights, switches, generator, starter, and wireing. I guess the fan belts slip enough to keep the submerged fan blades from bending under water. ![]() Alan
