Default What year was this ONAN built?

This is from my litter of 2500 watt ONANs that I recently purchased. Just wondering was this built april 1964? Am I decoding this right? This one is different than the rest. It has a Carter carb and no 12 volt electric start. This thing was a mess when I got it. The points were stuck and the gasoline had turned to sludge from the tank to the carb. Well here are the numbers
model 205AJ-1P114/1G
serial 44C760220
Here are pics

Any info would be helpful

I believe your unit was made in April 1964.
If I have my information right from the experts in here that try to pass along their knowledge to rubes like me, the first 1 (or sometimes 2) digits tell the month (1-12), the next one is the year (0-9) and the letter tells the decade - A = '40s, B = '50s, C = '60s.
However..... I think the '40s are usually represented by a period (.) unless its a factory rebuilt unit from the '40s - then it has the "A" (108.XXXXX would be from October 1948 108AXXXXX would be a factory rebuilt unit)
If I am wrong, somebody will let me know

John is correct. It was made in April 1964. It is a spec G unit. Does make some noise when running. But tough little units. Parts are out there you just have to look for them.

I didn't think this thing was THAT old! I guess this one is the oldest of my small collection, the newest is a 1990. They didn't change much in that time. This thing runs good now that I cleaned all the sludge out of the carb, tank and swapped the fuel filter and pump from a different unit. I really think these may be indestructible (as long as they have oil). It is pretty noisy, running at 3600 rpm doesn't help. I may add some more 1" pipe to try to quiet it down some. Thanks for the info.

John, If my Onan 5GO has a serial number
37.306653, does that make it built in
March of 1947 ?
Thanks, Tom

Thanks Bill, much appreciated. I'm in the process of tracing all wiring to the panel, charting them, but a wiring diagram would be great, as well as operation information.
