Well several things come to mind (1)The fuel line from the tank to the carb may have a crack thus loosing suction. (2) The fuel is contaminated with water and wont burn. (3) The pump diaphragm in the carburator has failed. (4)The Carb is contaminated with foreign matter and a circiut is plugged (5) The fuel filter is plugged up or not laying in the fuel to ensblr transfer.

When u use the primer bulb does it fill up? you may have put the fuel lines on the carb wrong. prime it and see if it fills all the way, if not switch the lines at the carb and try again.

also there is a possibility the compression could be to low to make enough section for the carb to work properly.

One thing, it has nothing to do with the crank seals. If the seals were gone, it wouldn't run, even if you put gas/oil mix in the carburetor.
Two, the compression will be good, if not it wouldn't run, even when you put gas/oil mix into the carburetor.
It is a fuel issue, because the chain saw will run, when you put gas/oil mix in the carburetor. I have a chain saw here, that will only run the same way, as yours.
The carburetor probably needs a repair kit put in, then it should be OK.
I hope this helps you out a bit.
Bruce.
