Hi,

Not sure where to introduce myself so I thought I would start here as its close to my own situation.

I too have a DAF YA-328 but mine needs a bit of engine work.

I'm looking for pointers to a good manual for the Hercules JXLD engine in relation to a complete strip down of the block.
The block needs a new valve seat to run on unleaded gasoline.

My truck is a 1956 ex military unit which spent 20 years in a museum.
When I got it it looked like this and with a little smoke was running well, a few miles cured the smoke but after 2000 miles in a week it needed some work and has been at the back of my projects list ever since.

Now I need to get the old timer running again, I have space, time and a little money to spend but need some good engine documentation to do the work.
I'm no stranger to dirty hands, I've had British cars for much of my driving history but I have never worked on a sidevalve.

Any help most welcome

Cheers

Ian

I have found that people from Holland are very nice and very smart. My Dad was born in Haarlem Holland in 1923. Welcome to Smokstak
