Default Tobacco Sticks and Stalks

I am looking for some old hand split tobacco sticks. I want to use then to make broom handles. The older the better. I have seen them on Craig's list cheap in Tennessee, but folks don't want to ship them because they are selling so cheap it isn't worth it for them.

I am also looking for tobacco plant stalks - I just go a broom made on one. I had no idea they were so woody and strong when dry. They make an interesting handle. I know tobacco is grown in Pa, but I don't know anyone that grows it.

Check out Lancaster Farming, it's a weekly farming newspaper. They have a classified section called Mailbox Market and it is full of farm related items for sale. There is usually somebody selling tobacco lathe. I think you can also check them out on line as well. There is a lot of tobacco grown here in Lancaster which is not to far from you.
