Default P & O Lister Cultivator "Go Devil"

This cultivator belonged to my Great Uncle and we got it from his homestead out in west central South Dakota. I am about done painting it up. From the bits of paint that were left I did my best to duplicate the correct color scheme. It seems to me that there should be a seat and maybe foot rests on the cultivator The cultivator doesn't weigh that much and without the weight of the driver it doesn't seem as if it would go in the ground very good. Does anyone have pictures of this piece of machinery or an original unit to see if it had a seat?

Hey Craig,

Not only red & blue but horse drawn.........
Its a filler project. Don't worry, I am going back to finishing the intermediate gear pattern that 4 of us need on Old Reliable projects!

Good morning Ironsides,

Here are some numbers for you.

Red Yoke that fastens to the disc blades: 5730

Red Lever on Yoke that changes angle of disc blades: 5738

Red notched quadrant up front that lifts disc blades out of the soil: 5721

Blue IRON frame going from front to rear: S8615

All IRON pieces have numbers stamped in to them. Most start with "S".

Several locations have P & O stamped into the IRON parts.

That is one slick little unit. I would like to find one for market gardening.

Thanks Tom! The cultivator will be at the threshing show north of Faith come the last weekend in September. You have great literature resourses. We got the cultivator at Milesville, SD, in west of Pierre.

Next question....

Is anyone making the P & O logo with the single bottom walking plow going through the P and the O? Or do I have to go to a local graphic arts shop and have several made. Does Lyle Wacker in NE make these decals?? Anyone know??

Hi Bruce. I heard good things about this years show. And just so you would have good weather I stayed over here in Japan. Hopefully I will be there next year.

Thanks Brian, I may have to write him because the only one on his site I could find was the square one for planter boxes unless I missed it. Thanks

I was giving this Sled Disk Lister, or Go-Devil as they were commonly referred to, and wanted to find out more information. I know it's NOT a P&O Implement Co. Disk Lister. I can barley make out the words "Moline Illinois" on the left foot rest. Did The Moline Plow Co. make these as well. I understand John Deere made this type Disk Lister as well but not sure where I can find that information since I don't believe I've ever seen a John Deere Sled Lister like this. Any help you can afford would sure be appreciated!
