Default Clinton/Tecumseh connection?

Is there a connection between Clinton and Tecumseh? I have a small Clinton thats missing its id tag that I thought was a Tecumseh untill I saw the Clinton logo on the points cover. It has a Tecumseh coil and condenser on it. I've seen genuine Clinton coils on ebay that look exactly like Tecumseh ones. Did Tecumseh buy out Clinton? Did they get their ignition parts from the same outside source? Whatever happened to Clinton? Thanks in advance, Brian.

this is just a guess, but ignition systems often come from an outside source, phelon, wico, and so on. could be they used the same source.

Clinton had an auction the end of last year. Sold out all their parts and manufacturing machines.
