Default Has anyone made HEAVY spoked rubber tired wheels?

I Finally found a cart heavy enuf for my 35hp superior, and man this thing looks so correct for an engine cart. Except it has 16'' truck wheels on it. This cart used to be a air compressor trailer for the army. My question is, has anyone made heavy spoked rubber tired wheels? Remember the engine alone weighs 8,800 lbs. I'll post some pics of this cart as soon as i bring it home. Thanks

Try finding an older, pull type combine. They have heavy spoked wheels with Tires on them, the only thing is that there about 5 feet tall. Maybe a little big for what you want. They are all over in my part of the country.

Just another thought, the front wheels off of a older tractor. There are alot of them that are spoked with tires. And just a little smaller than them combine wheels

Hi, You can make a round disc to bolt to the hubs as the wheels do now.find a pc of well casing that will go over the plate and hub so it is in the middle. The well casing could be 5 or 6 inches long.Weld the plate into the well casing. You now have something to weld your spokes to.Put the rim or steel ring around that.make spokes and weld them in.You now have a spoked wheel that bolts to a more modern hub. This way there are roller bearings instead of a plain bearing.good luck Rob
