Default Maytag exhaust ends

I thought Maytag made most of the exhaust end where in aluminum, was doing some checking the other day and noticed that I had a steel end on one of my many Maytag’s....it has the same part # S259...

Is this a rare item? What year was this manufactured?

David , I saw one at Brooks Oregon Show and it looked like a clam shell with a slot cut in it , is this a [stock] muffler ? pretty sure it was steel
