There are other sponsors here at the stack like Starbolt. He allways answers the phone and if he tells you that it is instock he will get it to you in less than 5-7 days you dont have to wait three weeks to mabey get it. After being lied to once or twice not answering the phone just adds to it. Matt

We ordered some parts for a headless witte a few months back and it took them a couple weeks, but I have no complaints about Ed's service, he told me it could take up to 3 weeks shipping to Canada.

Can't say anything but Good things about Ed and his crew. They always answered my phone calls or emails. I don't mind waiting 3 weeks for most parts.Actually the last parts I ordered I explained that I was in a bind and needed them ASAP, they were nice enough to get them out to me in less than one week. I wish people would try to work out their personal diferences with the sponsers on this site instead of running them down.

The only problem there is that Starbolt doesn't have everything Hit Miss does and vise versa.

Always great service from Ed and the gang. Remember he makes a lot of what he sells and has to have the lead time built in .

I've dealt with "Hit N Miss" for at least 15 years & they have allways done well with me. There have been a problem or 2 along the way,but allways ended with COMPLETE satisfaction. Some time's can be hard to get through on the phone, but have to remember they have other customers beside me.{A good thing to as they couldn't keep the doors open on just my $$$} Sometimes can take awhile to get the part, but just glad to be able to get them at all. About 10 days before the 4th of July I called them in need of fuel pump for IHC "M" & told them I really needed it for a show on the 4th & I had it in my maibox in LESS THAN A WEEK!!! {A new top quality cast iron pump} All in all a GREAT place to deal with & if you have a problem let THEM know & they do their best to make you happy.By the way,I have also dealt with Starbolt over the years & they are also top notch, but don't have the wide variety that Ed does.

i haven't had any major problems with hit n miss. they are pretty slow, but it's not like anybody needs their engine running immediately. we aren't relying on these engines like the old timers did way back. and if you restoration has been years in the making, whats another month?
when i first dig into a project i strip it down, make a shopping list, place my order then start in on it. there's always something that can be done in the meantime. |

I surely wasn't complaining about Ed at Hit & Miss.......only asking here if was paying attention.
When you can't get through it's difficult to CALL to make him aware of the problem....... ![]() Ed's reply is there >>>>> http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80223 .......

a lot of these engines hav'nt run in 50+ years so 3 more weeks won't hurt....better than not having anything source for parts at all...........

The phone switching circuits out of Cleveland to Orwell have been having problems. The local and Cleveland office's have been notified and are working on the problem.
