Default More eBay scam artists

As long as we are on the subject: 2 nights ago I received an email, kind of an official looking thing, using eBay in the sender's address requesting some of my account info with eBay. Well, as I was not born yesterday I promptly replied to the sender that I was forwarding that email to eBay AND the State of Wisconsin Attorney General's Office. Should I have replied using my REAL email address? NO---but I did---but also added that address to my blocked senders list. Ebay responded, quickly I might add, assuring me that they would NEVER request such information and thanked me for reporting it as well as offering some suggestions, to wit: First let me begin by telling you that this email was not sent by eBay nor endorsed by us in anyway. These emails are the result of a fraudulent entity who primarily targets members who are using their email address as their eBay User ID. Please let me assure you that eBay will NEVER ask for your private information, including passwords, in an email format. If we ever request information from you, we will always direct you back to the eBay site to enter this information. This is getting long BUT YOU CAN'T BE TOO CAREFUL. Craig

I got a similar email the other day saying that ebay was going to shut me down unless I go to a specified site and provide them with information. The site never came up and I deleted the message and blocked it. Can't be to careful these days. Paul

I had a simalar email that claimed it was from pay pal / ebay, they had computer problems and lost all of the account data, and wanted you to resubmit it before they would let you use the service. If they lost all the data, how did they know to email me for replacement?
