Found this neat Oil Pull Lubricant "Ball Bearing" Grease pail made for the Advance - Rumely Thresher Co. Inc. on eBay this morning.
EBay auction number 360325851778 Too rich for my blood, but I also don't have an Oil Pull to have any need for it. It'll be interesting to see where it ends up price wise. |

Hi Guys
I saw one of these sold at an auction in Montana years ago and if memory serves me correctly I think it brought around $600 back then. I'd expect it to get some pretty big $$$ Time will tell. LeRoy

The way it was going the price would have sky-rocketed anyway, but by posting it on here more Oil Pull collectors may have found it that might not normally get on eBay. I'd rather see it go to a good home in a collection than on a dealers trailer to get beat up hauling it from swap meet to swap meet waiting for the right person to come along to buy it from them at their price.
One thing eBay does, is level the playing field giving more people a chance at getting something, and letting the buyers set the price instead of the seller. It will go for what the collectors think it's worth, Not what a dealer tells them it's worth. ---------- Post added at 02:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:57 PM ---------- Forgot to mention.... it was already well over the $350.00 mark when I stumbled accross it, I just figured I'd share it with those that may be interested, even if just to watch it like me and see what it goes for. |

But the big question is how much of that expensive grease is left in the can?

With the current 23 bids on it at the $990.08, there are still only 6 bidders, and the current high bidder had already bid $659.65 prior to my posting it on here. One new bidder jumped in 4 hours after I posted at $457.57 and a 2nd new bidder got in it today 2 days after I posted. Don't know if they found it from my posting it on here, or if they already had it on their watch list. In either case, it's interesting to watch it and it will be interesting when it's over with to see if someone on here got it, and if they were in it before or after I posted it here.

I think there were two winners on this auction. Obviously the seller and the guy who lost this auction.
I'd be willing to bet a dollar there will be a few more grease containers showing up shortly. The loser will get one for a lesser amount. |

How many more will now come onto the market? My 25 lb. and 10 lb. cans are setting in the living room. Maybe I should take them to the bank and rent a space in the vault. I thought $75 each was pretty high. The ole hobby ain't what it used to be. Good if your a seller, not so good if your a buyer.

I've had four of the 10lb cans over the past few years. I still have the best one but sold the other 3 on EPay for $6-800. I'd imagine the 25lb cans would be a bit harder to find. I'm both a buyer and a seller and condition and rarity are the two biggest factors in a piece's value. Then you must consider the size of the collector base. And, finally, consider the survival rate and the fact that they're not making them anymore. I've stepped up to the plate many times for good stuff and after the auction I've more often been disappointed about what I DIDN'T buy than what I DID buy. Just my $.02.

These things will be like the Watch FOBS, mass produced in China for a few bucks and on Ebay every other day. They are already doing this with the 12-20 Rumely Pin back buttons and they are close to the same. Also Gleaner I was at Franks sale when you bought your cans, I was next to last bidder on both and have always wished I had bid more! I did get the S that you thought I paid to much for. LOL. Mike
