Default New and green from Massachusetts

Well new any way. im really only green bout things i havent learned yet (aren't we all). As i said, im in Mass, and not liking it. This city doesnt support the engine, machining, fabrication, and equipment type hobbies. But at 16 theres not much that can be done.

Any way, im goin to a voc. tech school for metal fabrication, and have been at the top of my shop class. We got a CNC Plasma table and i was the 1st student to use it. Next i want to learn how to machine at home, ill have questions on that later.

Currently i collect old garden tractors with the intent to keep doing so along with old trucks, and larger tractors. Ongoing projects include a homemade tractor that is on hold unit spring-cold weather- and simplicity tractor thats getting some freshening up to be ready to plow the nonexistant snow by X-mas, and a crawler tractor that i with retrieve from the current owner after the holidays. Theres others, but they will come up later in the appropriate forums.

Though young, i still have a pretty good amount of mechanical as well as random knowledge, at least thats what my friends say, and am happy to help any where i can.

So far its been a great place here. The people are nice, and when i posted my first question, the response was almost immediate and right on what i needed. Ill try not to get into too much trouble...

Come on up to New Hampshire this summer. You'll find our show listed on the calendar.

Where in Mass. are you? Ever go to the Pepperell Crankup? I've been the last 3 years. Second Sunday of July. Lots of engines, tractors and all other manner of cultch. It's the weekend before my show. If I get one or more of my 4 engines going, I might even take them to Pepperell next year.

Welcome to 'Stak,
Two of my favorites are in New England;

New England Museum of Wireless and Steam at East Greenwich, RI. http://www.newsm.org/

Another favorite is Connecticut Antique Machinery Association, at Kent. http://www.ctamachinery.com/

The two shows mentioned just above in CT and RI are two of my favorites. You will also love going to Orange, MA and Dublin, NH. The Cranberry Flywheelers is likely your closest local club and they have a few shows. I attended a nice one they put on at the Plymouth Airport.

Welcome aboard !

Gil
