Default Briggs & Stratton Model 14

Can anyone tell me what year(s) the Briggs model 14 spanned? I'm trying to date a riding tractor by knowing it originally had a model 14.

Thanks,
Matt

Do you have a Serial Number from the engines data tag? If so you can find the month/year of the engines production in the Briggs data sub-page, In the Tech data section of www.asecc.com

I looked it up and B&S Model 14's were built from March 1948 to Sept. 1963.

Hi Kent,

I picked up a Model 14 for the tractor because thats what supposed to be on it, but obviously the one I have is not the original to the machine. The numbers on the motor I have are:

Model: 14
Type: 202074
Serial: 249975

I'd be interested to know the vintage of this motor that I have.

Thanks,
Matt
