Default Sears 580321851 5kw Generator

Folks
Just picked up a Sears 580311851 5kw generator. Can anyone cross ref this to a Generac model so I hunt down a copy of a manual or schmatic. It appears to have a Techumseh electric start engine-not sure of the model yet

JB-

One candidate might be the Generac model S5002, which uses a Tecumseh HM100 engine according to the Clymer manual volume 1. According to the Clymer manual volume 2, the S5002 may also be a model 8983-0, -1, -2, -3, -4 or -5.

I suggest you check 580.311851 (or 580.31185-1?) at the Sears Parts website. You may find a wiring diagram and an illustrated parts breakdown there. Even when Sears can no longer supply parts, they use Generac's and Tecumseh's part numbers.

I was unable to find model 580311851 on the sears parts site. The 580321851 does not have a wiring diagram. The Generac S5002 is not quite the same. The Sears unit has a reactor assembly on it

Smile Sears 580321851 5kw Generator

I will look on my old Partsmart computer tomorrow or the next day. Hope the sears/craftsman cross reference goes back that far.

could not find in the old PartSmart system. Please post some good pics of your unit. There were several hundred different generator models with sublte differences. I can usually find something with some good pictures

I have a smaller version of that generator, a Sears 580321811, 2200 watt 120v manual start, with a Tecumseh engine. I also have the manual. If you think it would help you, PM me your email address and I will send you a copy.
