Default Massey Ferguson Continental Z129

Im helping a couple friends put together a Z129 basket case they picked up. Im having a little trouble with the mains. first of all , the new crank is not machined to accept shims to set the thrust and I cant seem to get flanged main bearings . also the block does not have the line up pins on the inside of front bearing web to hold the brass thrust washer so it floats on the crank and is quite loose. just does not seem right . anybody run into this ?

Hmm, I have a manual I think at home, but I can't be much help if you already know the methods. You call Gerry Moons and ask him about it yet? There has to be an option; I know my E201 had the flanged center bearings, and I got them from Sealed Power.

It sounds like you have parts for two different vintage motors mixed together. I believe the mains with the separate thrust washers are from the earlier style ,if you don't have the original crankshaft they are probably not compatiable with the newer style. F.J.W.

Interesting, I wasn't aware they would have changed this. If that's the case, you need to figure out which is correct, crank or block. Then the expensive part is next: Finding out which to buy....
