This delayed planting is really going to hurt the farm crowd.... We haven't planted a thing, nor turned any dirt yet!

I hope they have a great turnout. I know they do a phenomenal job....Has Dan got his Advance done & up here yet?

Thanks for the bump.

Beth

I hear Schramm's 8 hp Russell portable will be there. Dan hopes to have the 26 Advance. I'm sure Jonas will have his 20 AR or perhaps the 18 AR......what else will the lucky visitors get to see in action? The 24 Greyhound?

Thanks
Beth

Byler's 24 Greyhound will be on the road today to Trumbull County.
I am sure there are some barking engines(AD Baker engines) will be on ground.

No 18 Universal. There were not enough hours in the day to get it finished even though Jonas and the boys put in a huge effort.

Kevin,

Dan relayed that the 20 Advance Rumely and the 5/8 Baker are coming to NTA. I'm sure we'll know more after this weekend.

What all did the 18 need...besides everything??

Got any pictures of the 18 share from your fine collection?

Thanks
Beth

Well, with Beth's help posting the photos, (thanks Beth!)I found a few pictures of Homer's old Advance Rumely. The colored picture is after he restored the ol girl, then sold it to go to North Carolina. The other picture is Homer at the controls of the A-R.
I had talked to Jonas when he got the engine, and he said he was really pleased with the condition of it, except for the crown sheet. They had the engine apart and said that it was hardly worn at all. Jonas said he didnt think he was gonna do anything to the engine works. I remember the engine sold at an auction about ten years ago or so in N.C.. I went down to try to bring her back to Ohio, but it sold for WAY more than I thought it would. I'm glad it now has a good home in Middlefield.

Nice looking engine. Who put the large bell on it?

Silly question, but with such a large bell, do they have issues with the clapper ringing the bell as it moves or is there a silencer on it?

Thanks!
Beth

Why did they sell it? (Besides Jonas could have another nice AR?)

That would be a great size engine to play with.

I'll have to get back to you on that question. Ill have to ask some other family members about it. I know that my great grandfather was so sore about the rumely buy out, he took one of the watch fobs that had the banner boy and the rumely world logo on it, he took a file to it and cut the rumely world right out of the fob! I do know that homer was well known for his paint jobs on engines then. Many people told me how that engine looked just like it rolled of the assembly line when he restored it. 18Hp would be a great size, not to big and just enough power to do almost any project you throw at her.

WOW Very nice engine! Dad has a color video of the rubber tire Baker from a parade right after Homer painted it. I still can't figure out how he got a brushed on paint job to look that good
