Kerosene Engine

I have been asked by the museum in Morgan SA to look at a Kerosene engine for them as they hope to get it running, It was apparently re built a few years ago and not started then left for the weather to take its toll. The plate attatched reads as follows, Australin Kerosene Engine. Ronaldson Brothers & Tippett Pty Ltd. Ballaratt Aust. for J H Horwood & Co Ltd. Adelaide. Quote No. 5108 I am after any info on repair and service and a starting proceedue if possible. I would appreciate any help thanks Phill

Another source of parts and info is RallyBadges (the link is below). By the engine number I would guess that the engine is an open crank, magneto start engine. They are a nice engine and easy to start. Full instruction manuals are available from Jeff Holly and Greg McNeice at Rallybadges. The engine may look something like the picture below or be hopper cooled. Number 5108 dates to July 1924.
