These photos may not look like much progress but they are the result of two good days worth of work.
The windows are all removed and I've started to remove the edge trim from the front. There are a million screws holding these windows and trim on ( well. maybe it just SEEMS like that many ). ![]() I figured that once the windows and edge trim are removed, the side panels would slip right off. .... WRONG !! The side panels are first fastened on with tiny nails about every 6-inches. Then the top and front panels are put on and about 3/4 inch of metal is bent over the side panels. Then they nailed thru the bent over edge about every 6-inch. So .. I had to get all the nails out of the bent over edge, then lift the edging up so I could pull all the nails out of the side panels. Finally, I got the side panels off. ![]() When I stood back to take a good look at it, my first thought was " what in the heck have I gotten myself into this time ?" The wood is all rotted away from around the window on this side. Some of the wood is rotted below the window on the other side also. ![]() The wood on the overhang isn't in too bad a shape on this side.

The very front corner area is rotted out so those pieces will have to be replaced but that shouldn't be too much trouble.
![]() The wood on the overhang on the other side all looks good. ![]() Ray |
