Its right along 80 just after I-35 splits off on the west side. (I-35 and I-80 run together through DesMoines.) I think it is the 1st exit west of the rest area. You can see it from the interstate

I don't think I would waste my time next year Robert. Waukee seems to have been going down hill for the last few years. I was there yesterday (friday) and was very disapointed in the amount of both venders and buyers present. 5 years ago you would have had a hard time seeing everything in one day. This year it didn't take a half a day. Venders were pulling out as early as Thursday and heading for Mt. Pleasant for their swap meet. Anyone know how it went?

Waukee seems to be dying on the vine. It would make more sense to me if they would extend the swap at least through Sunday. Starting on Wednesday and ending on Saturday of Memorial day weekend just isn't a good idea. Last year the heat and a big auction really killed the turn out for their show. The Lind equipment auction people came out to Waukee and plastered everything including freshly painted tractors with sale bills. Now that would really tick me off. The show was not responsible for the sale bills. They only gave permission for them to be posted on bulletin boards. According to one of the show officials legal action was going to be taken against the auction company to pay for damaged paint, but I never did hear what the outcome was. The best advice I can give is make the best use of what they have. Working shows attract me. There is still plenty of area they could plow and plant oats, wheat, or whatever so they could thresh, combine, and bale.
