Default Buying NEW Books on eBay

I see many people pay more than list price and paying excessive shipping by getting into bidding wars on eBay. It's almost like a casino!

Recently, I took the time and effort to scan an original Bosch Magneto service book. I painstakingly re-typeset it in Adobe Acrobat and then created a pdf file so it could be printed on a laser printer. I put a $3.00 tag on it and sold it on EngineBooks.com.

What do you know, but it showed up on eBay! I could recognize it by its layout. (After working on it so long.) And, the starting bid is $5.99. Here's the kicker: it's a PHOTOCOPY of MY book!

That kind of took the fuel out of my desire to reprint many of the other old originals in my collection. Way to go!

Currently, there's a Wendel's IHC book on eBay. It started at $19.95 and is now at $36.00. It will be interesting to see if it reaches list price at $44.95.

I see stuff like this all the time on e-bay. Guy will have several identical items for sale with the buy it now feature with a opening bid a little cheaper and someone will bid on it and wipe out the buy it now and then they will bid it up past what the buy it now price was. the kicker is you could scan down a little and buy the same piece with the buy it now feature cheaper then the first one! Dont figure. BobRR
