Does anyone know the correct engine for a midland walkbehind model 1A. This is the tractor with the ball type cast iron levers for engaging.

Jim, I found listed in one of my small books, "Midland Dandy Boy Garden Tractors" ( walk behind with cast ball type levers as you described ) but lists models by name, not by # so I don't know which one is a "1A". The "Clipper" used a Briggs "N" (2 hp.), the "Super" used a Briggs "9" (5.1 hp.) and the "Town & Country" used a Briggs "9" (3.1 hp.) Why the book lists two models using a "9" at two different hp. ratings I have no idea. Could be a typo ?
