Default Generac MC 40, Mod 6897-3 NO POWER

I have an old Generac generator, MC 40, Model # 6897-3, that I got for free. From a motorhome. How do I wire the output? I dont get any power with my multi meter with the 3 output wires? Does anyone have a manual for this generator? I'm trying to get it running for my brother who is on SSI. Any help would be helpfull. I will try to answer as fast as I can to all replies.

There are 4 wires that were cut off when the generator was removed.
Could this be a remote start wireing loom? Would the generator still put out power if these 4 wires are taped off? Engine runs and starts from the external panel. I even checked for power at the rear of the breaker in case it was broken. No 110V.
4 Wires are numbered 10,14, 17, and 20. ( these are the numbers on each of the grey wires, embosed on the grey outer covering )
HELP
No luck finding an owners manual or wireing schematic.
Generator was supposed to work and make power.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Dr Max

Dr. Max-

I found a manual 051834.pdf on the web, that should help. It is about 25 Megabytes, so would take a while to download.

Ok Dr Max, according to Fred M's PDF, your Chopped off wires are for a Remote Start/Stop Panel. Looks like if you are still having AC Power issues, it is in the AVR System. Check the Exciter Voltage when running.

Hi BT, I will check that pdf in a minute. I believe this old unit had a little sealed plug in rectifier. Probably obsolete now but can be repaired.

The manual Fred found appears to be the correct manual and will be most helpful in troubleshooting your problem. Excellent bathroom reading material. Kudos to who or whomever originally took the time to put this original manual into a pdf file.

You people are the GREATEST. Downloading the manual as I type. Would be great if I could get it working for my brother. More as I read up on the generator, and do some tests.
THANKS
