Default New Guy From Iowa

Yes I am new. I live in North Central Iowa and came accross this Fairbanks Morse Z motor and truck. 2 HP I have been trying to get this motor for a year now and finally scored! The problem is that I know very little compared to the old proes. It just runs fantastic and looks to be in very good repair. I just do not know if it has been altered and the value? The friend I purchased it from has always run it for me and was very proud of it. Can any one give me some feed back? I took some pics to give someone an idea of what it looks like. The number in it is 640024 and the brass plate has 1917 patent dates. I will attempt the photoes that I resized. Your feed back would be greatly appreciated!!!

looks good to me!!! i live in west des moines. ur lucky to find one with the magneto period. value is a hard thing to guess. but i would think around 500- 800, maybe more on a good day.
these are fairly common engines. fairbanks made alot of them. but since is has what we call dishpan flywheels make it even more collectible. so im sure u did alright no matter what you paid. and if u have problems let one of us know. welcome to the website.

Were would be the best place to list it? I would take $600 for it as it in really good shape. Should I repaint it? I just broke my hand biking and cannot play with as I wanted. Thanks for the reply verry very much.
