Photo Hello from Arizona

Hello!
I'm not a collector of anything here but, I am intrigued!
I have a friend that collects old engines & I just love hearing them start up and run! So cool!

Thank you Maya,
Well I have become a lover of Arizona! My family and I have been through it a couple times from Phoenix to Sedona and Flagstaff on the way to Nebraska. We have really enjoyed it a lot. Yes, the sound of the engines running is very soothing somehow. Enjoy your stay here, and of course there are lots of videos on youtube if you want to see other engines run. Kevin

Welcome to the stak. If you have never been to an engine show, you need to go. You will see so many engines running that you will really enjoy yourself. Bill K

Welcome Aboard.

If you have a high speed connection to watch them with, you will find the occasional video posted or linked to on here too.

You will also find different forums with old Hit & Miss Engines, Steam Engines, Antique tractors, Antique cars & trucks, Horse Powered equipment, etc.... All Interesting in their own right.

Hi Maya, welcome to the stak. I love Az too, my first introduction to old engines was in Jerome, oh 30 years ago. I think the museum is still there, not sure if they still run the engines, Jerome was a funky town back then, sure hope it still is.

Hey thanks for all the warm welcomes

Dalmationgirl, Jerome is still quite funky!

I posted a question in the antique engine discussion and was hoping someone would have answered by now

Question about a Fairbanks-Morse 1919

Funny you should mention Jerome. We blew up a LeRoi 844 CI engine coming back down from the Gold King Mine in Jerome 3 weeks ago. Big hole in block. We were at a VW event. Look at our big VW bus made from a Walter Crash Truck.www.walterthebus.org We have found a core LeRoi for parts and job is under way. Nice to meet you guys. I am in Mesa AZ. I run Alternative Auto Care in Mesa. Photos of hole in engine and our new core.

Guy in photo is not me but Jim ..my main shop tech.

Dave

89A going up out of Jerome, a large hairy tarantula was meandering across the road. None to do, but I had to stop and capture the critter. That was 40 years ago on a summer vacation trip - how time flies!
