Many of you probably know this but went to friendly Briggs dealer for a carb diaphram for a Model 80902, type 0266-01,serial 6402104. Part # 27910 & was told no longer available. It's only 47 years old and still has the original plug in it. Anyway bought a part # 272538 from a 5 hp. Works fine, has an extra dimple for another screw that sticks out from the side of the carb. Cut it off with sharp knife. This engine is on a Parker lawn vac. I like engines on equipment so I can demo the whole thing. Plus I like to have them work for a living. The machine only needed a diaphram, an air filter element (also no longer available but dealer still had one on the shelf) and will need to have the bottom of the bag made because some one left it with a small amount of leaves in it. Fairly nice orginal paint.

Do not take this the WRONG way but ANYONE who has worked more than 15 or 20 minutes on the old Briggs engines with the pulse jet carb know the the diaphragm from the newer pulse jets will work on the older pulse jet. You do not need to cut the part that hags out off. The REAL PROBLEM is there are a BUNCH of new Briggs dealer who know NOTHING of the older Briggs engine. I bet this dealer you went to, if someone ploped a Briggs Model ZZ on the counter, would NOT KNOW it was a Briggs engine.

You can pull up an IPL from the Briggs website for your engine. Even though some of the parts are discontinued from Briggs, many of the common parts are still available from Prime Line at most auto parts stores.
Also e-bay is an excellent source for discontinued NOS parts..
