Question Re: generac gp7000e wont stay running

1) Check gas cap for proper venting. 2) Check all rubber fuel lines for condition, including internal collapse. 3) Check the fuel bowl and carb fuel inlet for debris and or restrictions. 4) If this unit has a fuel filter, replace it. If it has a fuel bowl assembly, check the internal screen for clogging. 5) Check operation of fuel valve - is it partially closed?

Other things to check - Does it have a low oil cutoff? Check the oil level! My FD has a 5,000 watt Honda that was only about a pint low on oil. It did the same thing, cut off after about 10 minutes. Topped off the oil, no more stalls! Put an inductive timing light on the coil wire. Does it show steady spark, when the engine quits, or does spark go away?

I suspect this generac gen should have a additional 4 digit or so model number so as to ID the proper engine type?

I would think about checking the oil and if ok look into bypassing the low oil sensor.

The timing light procedure the guy mentioned will let you know if the engine is starving for fuel or if it's losing ignition.

If it;s ignition bypass the low oil sensore, if its gas related, there is usually a very fine screen filter on the petcock that is on the bottom of the fuel tank.

You can blow air backwards through the fuel line with the gas cap removed so as to temporarily remove the restriction and clean the screened filters.
If the screens are clogged remove the fuel tank and clean all, if rusty replace tank.

check the things the others have posted, yours does have oil pressure switch located next to oil filter, may be the problem
this unit has 1 year warranty for commercial use and 2 year for residential use
