Hi all. I have watched this for a while, and finally signed up. I have been working with antique farm equipment since 4th grade. (Mid 30's now.) I have Flywheel engines, tractors, and am looking for a steamer. Always willing to help out if I can fit it in my schedule.

Mike.

This is our 3-1/2 hp Leader. Just starting to work on it now. The original crank is broke (Guessing it "Ran Away"), but I got a spare crank and flywheels with the engine. The piston was stuck, just got it knocked loose and noticed that the Connecting rod has been brazed at the wrist pin.

Note the nametag has # 1537 then over stamped with 1540. Any ideas???

Mike

My "first" John Deere R. They were building an addition around the tractor as they couldn't move it. The trans was lock into a buch of gears at once, because the detent casting came lose and left the shift paw come up out of the shift forks. SN is 1048, (48th off the assembly line, so one of the earliest I know of.) Tore it down to completely rebuild, in 2005-6 and still in lots of pieces....

2nd John Deere R. Was going to use for parts, but it is a later version, so some wouldn't work. Its at home as a work-horse, when I have heavy pulling to do. I should throw a coat of paint on it, but haven't had the time.
