Default LeJay Fence Chargers (Buzz Coil)

I had been planning to make one of these from the LeJay Manual, but Saturday I came across the real thing. After cleaning off the points, it ran all afternoon.

And here is a "pendulum" style fence charger as described in the LeJay Manual.

How would one go about getting a copy of the instructions to build one of these zappers?

Get a copy of the LeJay Manual from Lindsay Books. http://www.lindsaybks.com/bks/lejay/index.html

Or do a Google search for LeJay Manual. There may be a online copy somewhere.

Does anyone know the correct pronunciation of LeJay? Is is Lee Jay or Luh Jay?

Been wanting to build one of those. I have the Lejay manual but it doesn't actually describe how it works. From what I can see, the marble rolling down the tube shoves the contact against the arm that goes past the core of the coil, which charges the coil, thereby magnetizing the core, and sucks said arm against the core thus tossing the marble up the tube thereby initiating the process once again. Am I correct in this assumption? I learn more by seeing than by reading. Thanks much, Wayne
