Default Briggs and Stratton model 190402 120 volt starter

does anyone make a new or rebuilt 120 volt starter? i have an old montgomery wards snowblower 8 hp, wolud be able to live woth the recoil start but searching the web i do not come across anyone with a starter it is part 309a when looking on the parts lists i have found , any help would be great, thanks

looks like the part number for that starter is 396505. I looked and it doesn't seem that stens carries that part. but putting that number in on ebay pulls up some results, but looking like close to 300 dollars for a new one.
did your wards (gilson) blower come with electric start? if it didn't its possible you will need a flywheel also in order to get a ring gear.

If part #396505 is in fact the correct part number, it is still available new from Briggs.... $257.25 is list price.

1916Z3 is right, make sure your engine is set up for electric start before ordering a starter.

thanks yes the unit has the electric starter on from the start, has the ring gear , mine is shot inside i know a electric motor guy in our area has redone some other stuff of mine migh swing by and see what he knows about windings and such ifthere is a common small retro fit, 257 is pretty darn high to get one one of those can wait till spring for the big pioneer power swap meet meet around here, it does start super nice with the recoil though
