The best thing I did with my Onan on the back of bucket truck is add a outboard motor gas tank up top with a primer bulb.

I was have similar problems with cutting out, replaced fuel pump, added fuel shut off near pump so it would't loose prime.
The seperate gas tank works great

The OP has surely either fixed his set or beat it flat with a large hammer by now. Climbing down the #$%^ boom gets old quickly.

First thing is to find out whether its loosing spark or fuel or compresssion.

Easiest:
Get a comfortable chair to put beside the engine. Get a good book.
Get a can of ether and remove air cleaner so you can squirt into the carb.
Sit there with the book in one hand and the ether in the other.
Read book.
As soon as the engine starts to falter, "SQUIRT!".
If anything changes and/or it keeps running, then it's fuel problem.
If not, either spark or compression.

If it still dies completely, crank it immediately. If it turns over a lot faster than normal, then it's compression.

Else:
Spark.
Could be low oil, thin oil and old engine, bad Low Oil Pressure sensor.
Could be bad ignition coil condenser; even oily or barely opening points.

Here's an arm chair way to test for spark:
Get a spark tester like this:
https://www.ebay.com/i/322488659264?chn=ps
Hook it up to the spark plug closest to the chair.
Sit in the chair again, but don't read the book. You have to watch carefully to see if the sparks stop as soon as the engine starts to slow down.

I know all of this has been said before-----
