Default Tri-State Antique Engine & Threshers Show

I went to the Tri-State Antique Engine & Threshers Show in Bird City, Kansas today and they bound wheat with a binder. Why don't other shows do that. I have a 56 year old brother that has never seen a binder work.

The first picture is of the binder working and the second picture is of a header that cuts the wheat and elevates it into a header barge. It was talked about on another thread a while back. The header is missing the tail wheel and the header is pushed with two horses.

Heins; There are a lot of shows that do the cutting ,binding , loading of the wagons and then doing the threshing of the oats or wheat. The show has to be in the time of year when the crop is ready to harvest and also it takes a lot of people to do all this and also the machinery involved. The bigger shows that have there own show grounds are the ones that do this. Hope this will answer your question::. Roger Weinhold AKA Charlie 1925
