Default MtPleasant rules for vendors

A lot of people think they will show up and sell at a show.
At MtPleasant now they want you in the grounds Monday and Tuesday. Then you must be or have some one on your space and be open from dawn to dusk. Thurs till Monday 2 pm.
A 20 x 40 is $500.

Probably will reduce their vendor quantity ,thus spectators, thus revenue. Thus the show dwindling.

At the former two cylinder club sponsored swap meet in Wichita it was indoors and 35 bucks for 10' x10' if i remember right, that was always a great
weekend. Vendors and buyers started tapering off the last couple of years and the club members were getting old enough to take a break, plus the city was shutting down the facility for all events. THAT was a great facility.
Made every one of thier swap meets, those were the good ol days.

The last few years very few iron vendors. They probably raised the rates 15 years ago. A 20x 20 is 250. Or 500 for a whole space.
I asked one of the directors why they did it and he said that no one wants that old iron anymore.

Several set up locally . The whole town is an antique or flea market. There are many who go to the town to shop and never go to the show grounds .
I am just flustered because I want to go on the grounds and sell and walk around and see the sights. That and watch the swap tent. Things come in their all day long. Everyday till it about closes.

At our show it varies quite a bit, one time they only wanted old iron no feathers and balloons. Another time they were all outside, now we have building space and few vendors. Many vendors say it's too hot, some say they don't sell anything.
The last year of the Wichita swap meet i cleared maybe 300 bucks and took home some good stuff. Crowd was down. I would be VERY hesitant to pay 250-500 dollars for a spot just to break even or worse. Giving away stuff you spent time and money collecting feels really wrong most days to me.
Only been to Mt. Pleasant once, it was a great show, i will go again someday for sure.

I don't go to Mt Pleasant to buy old Iron, I might walk through the area to see if any thing catches my eye. I don't think the show will close down if the vendors don't show up.
