Default Trade or Keep

First, I have a 4.0 cck and 2 6.5 NH RV units. A friend has a 5.0 cck condition not known right now. He is interested in trading his 5.0 cck for one of my 6.5 units. Any advise on having three different units adv or dis adv. Luck Ben

It would be better to have 4 units.

It depends on what he is willing to sweeten the deal with.
You already know the CCK is a cast iron monster built to last almost forever.
If he needs more than 5 kw then it should be his desire to make you happy and add to the pot so to speak.

Besides You don't know the condition of the CCK being offered in trade.

In my opinion, the NH is worth more than the CCK if each are in the same running condition. If he's a good friend, then maybe trade straight across and he owes you one. Just sayin'

I would stay with what you have the most of (NH's). That way if a parts machine becomes available at a bargain price, you might have enough spare parts to fix two machines. The NH's may have a longer service life due to the full flow oil filter, plus they have replaceable rod bearings, where as the 5.0CCK has aluminum rods that have to be replaced if a rebuild is needed.

I agree that the NH is worth more than the CCK, but I'm prejudiced. I own a BF and an NH and have little or no desire to own a CCK.

I would have to agree with Max, you need both the NH AND the CCK.

Even though my CCK is 10 years older than my NH, the CCK just purrs like a kitten. A pleasure to hear run.
