Default Domestic Catalog Photos? Factory striping?

As others have noticed.... domesticengine.com is no longer working. I'm not sure what happened, it was a great resource for general info and history.

Does anyone have a link to the catalog photos? I am looking for the factory illustrations with pin striping for reference.

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

For dating purposes, especially on your early 2H.P., take a look on the exhaust side of the cylinder, slightly below the cylinder centerline - there should be a date that it was cast at the factory.
I have a 2 HP Leader-Domestic that has a cast date of 4-24-11, serial number 4401. Don Kirkpatrick, who had the history on Domestic engines, confirmed the 1911 date, and supplied me with the information on when it was shipped.
This engine spent its life in a pump house on a lake in Central N.Y, and I had the pleasure of finding and removing it from the pump house in 1999. It is going to get a mechanical restoration this winter, and a thorough light cleaning to remove the grease and grime buildup. I cleaned a couple spots on the flywheels and base, it revealed the dark maroon paint and striping, so Iam excited to get going on this project!

Karl
