Default Bell serial number location

I am working on a Bell oilfield engine (12 hp). Does anyone know where they put the serial numbers? Is it the same place that Fairbanks put theirs on the 208's?

If I remember above the cam gear pin on the side of the block. May have been on a tag on the top or base too.
