Default Rebuilding A 25 HP Superior Governor

I thought some of you might enjoy hearing about how we rebuilt the governors on our two 25 hp Superior engines. All of the pivot pins were worn and the main drive shaft was worn and the hole in the casting was also egg shaped and oversized. The pivot pins were easy the big challenge was the worn drive shaft and the casting it runs in. At first I was going to put a new bronze bushing in each end of the casting. But with the pivot pin arm on the top of the casting made it impossible to chuck up in the lathe. I decided the easiest way was to pour a babbitt bearing full length of the casting. There is a machined surface on the lower end of the casting so I chucked it in the lathe on this end and then drilled a one inch hole through the casting. I cleaned up one of the shafts on the lathe. The second one was bent so I made a new one for it. I had to drill out the pins holding the drive gear on to the drive shaft. I replaced them with roll pins. I have attached some photos of the progress. Hope this might help someone with the same problem.
