This is from the Globe and Mail and has some more information on the Lancaster heavy bomber .

seen the only flying Lancaster about 10 years ago, love those 4 merlins…….

I still have dad's RAF log book. He was on that mission to Stuttgart the night of July 28/29 and saw a good number of aircraft go down. He said that 44 squadron's mess hall had a lot of empty seats the next morning.

First picture Churchill at 10 Downing Street
Second Dad and unknown friend
Third Lancaster
Fourth Dad on the right

Mom was right they were just boys sent over ,Dad I believe work in communications .
