Default 1945 IHC LB 1 1/2 brass handle

I am wondering if in 1945 IHC made a LB 1 1/2 enigne with a brass handle celebrating the 10 yr anniversay of the LA and LB engines? If so did they make them that entire year or just a limited number. Thanks

Have had a few couple with the brass crank handles. I think this was addressed in a post some time ago. Don't think it was to commemorate anything. Just the foundry must have had some brass in the pot.

A great resource is the search tab here on the site, and also the Similar Threads Chosen at Random shown on the bottom of this page, you may find something helpful to what you are asking.

By The Way Here is the link to the last brass crank handle thread:

I looked through the Archieves on here and found a little more info out about the brass handle LB's. I was still hoping that someone would have read in an IH book sometime along the line the actual reason behind the brass crank handle. I have heard people say the end of the war, the 10 year anniversay of the LB and LA engines. Also what do you guys think is a 1945 LB with a Brass Handle worth more then a 1944 LB both in the same shape? I guess it all amounts to how much i am willing to pay for the engine with the brass handle. What do you guys think is more rare a 1945 LB with a brass handle or a LA or LB engine with the oil bath air cleaner?? Thanks

I looked up the two I had with brass handles. One was a 1938 and the other a 1948. I know parts get switched around but I am pretty sure these were original to these engines
