Default Generac 15kw Standby 0047602 LP/NG

So I bought a Generac 15kw Standby 0047602. I got it cheap enough to get my money back parting it out, but would like to get it running. It was still hooked up to NG when I got it. The NG was locked out due to tenants not paying the gas bill. The guy says he was a rep/installer for Generac back when it was new. Of course with the NG turned off I couldn't test it. Anyway I found the instructions for switching from NG to LP. basically remove metering jet, adjust 2 screws. So I remove the demand regulator and then remove idle circuit port. I can't find any metering jet. I study on my booklet and regulator and determine that the metering jet is in it's storage position on the body of the regulator.
The directions indicate that you should turn the adj screws ¼ turn clockwise.
I didn't change the screw settings since the metering jet was out. I connected to LP and it will fire up and run 2-5 seconds and die. I find it odd that it appears to be set for LP, but was connected to NG and supposedly running before gas was cut.
Should I try adjusting the screws?
Front screw has Detent at 12 and screw seems set about 3 o'clock position, back screw has detent at 3 and appears to be at 8.
I guess logic would say turn the screw ¼ turn and see what happens, but logic would go nuts trying to figure out why the metering jet was not where it should be for NG.

The jet should be IN for LP. Natural gas has less BTU=needs bigger hole and 'richer' settings.

ok, with that said, looks like i may have misread a step, and a step is missing. Now looking at it, it says " 6. Remove the small jet (0D5698A) located in the side of the regulator port on the regulator. (not located inside..)
"7. Refit the brass hose fitting....."

I guess 7 should have been insert jet in idle circuit port....

Ok, makes a little more sense now.
Thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

well, added in the metering valve and turned the screws ¼ turn clockwise. Same result runs about 2-5 seconds and dies. waits a minute then tries to restart.. (hey at least I know that part of it works)

read something today, that lead me to believe if it's not connected to the house it won't stay running. Is this true? can it be bypassed for testing?

Doesn't matter if it's hooked up to house.

Check for AC output, best you can. I kinda bet it's not making 240.

well it only runs for a couple seconds so I doubt it.
it dies with the no utility sense light and exercise not set lights.

I did try playing with the governor (it think that what it is. guess I need a real manual) and by playing with that I can get it to run a little longer at partial speed. So I think it's probably some sort of air/fuel mixture issue
