Default picked up a pe 75 generator today

about 5 years ago... i got a onan otc military generator from the mans son.. and he said one day they would be cleaning out the garage and he would call me to see if i wanted anything they find.. well.. other than this there are a *few* things in there i want.. today i got to take home a few of them..

he started it up and ran it for me.. and powered a old heater.. to bad its missing the parts box..

i dont really know what plans i have for it.. i guess it will look nice next to the other 2 i have up north..

i do plan to change the oil and oil bath oil and run it a bit under a load.. so should be fun!

Nice! I have one that's all busted up and taken apart and in boxes lol. But it was only $35

I've been gathering needed parts, and I'll have to fabricate other parts for it.

Since it's such a mess I am going to experiment with it, rather than make it original. I'm going to combine it with a different unit that has the same model of engine, but was direct drive.

Going to put a 1500 watt generator on the PE-75, and change the drive pulleys to get the speed down nice and slow, maybe 1200, and see how it sounds and how it does.

The 2500 watt pe 75 generator will go on the direct drive set, so that engine will run at 1800. Should be fun!

Nice genset. I wonder if they made that setup as a civilian unit? I picked up a similar unit but the Leland generator is blue.

Got the chance to load this pe 75 up to 2250 watts.. about 18 amps.. ran really good.

1500 watt heater.. 500 watt light and a 3.5 amp angle grinder got it down to 116v about 58 hertz.. running 145v unloaded and 64 herts.

124v with just the heater on it

I have a PE 75 I and the engine tag is missing. It has cast iron blower housing and fuel tank bracket. The belt is adjusted by moving the engine.

Do you know the year of your unit?
