Default Onan 50k Military Genset control board rescue

Never fails every time I go to the scrap yard I come home with something new.
Was talking to the man there and looked at one of the scrap bins and sitting on top was a Onan control panel from a 50k generator. No one had a chance to hack it up yet so I asked if we could deal, I couldn't just leave it there.
Everything looks intact even has a schematic embossed on top.
Here are some pics. And yes I asked if the Genset was there Onan 305D316

That is an old military unit. Probably not built by Onan. Most of the time Onan just supplied the gen section. Very hard to find parts for. The guys on the military section might have some interest in it. Nice find anyway

If the unit is military related, the www.steelsoldiers.com web site is a good place to go. They are mainly about vehicles, but they do have a section for generators. They are a good bunch to talk to and helpful.

That is off of a Military genset, probably a MEP series. That voltage/phase selector switch I see in there is a good find.

This is from MEP-017, 5.0KW is what the schematic data tag says... the "dot" is obscured by abrasion/corrosion. Hard to read the bottom rectangular block of text, but the line below "tubular frame" reads beginning with "60Hz, 120/208...etc (voltage select options). Would have been from a MEP-022 if it had said 400 Hertz there.

^ right, and the regulator in it is one of the old non-electronic magnetic amplifier (akin to Onan's magneciter) types.

Thanks all I am sure you are right I will be at my shop later and check it out.
There was some dirt, flaking paint and some corrosion so I sure I miss read it. Nice old vintage gauges can't believe none of the glass was broken.
If the moderators want to correct my original post to 5.0 from 50 k It is ok with me. Thanks all
