Default Buying Quality is like LIFO for Capital Goods

for a moment let us assume you have a punching decision

you operate refrigerated delivery trucks
your new fleet had a choice of generators

Brand A; $2000 but a history of lasting 2 years on average.
Brand B; $4000 and a history of lasting 4 years on average.

It is NOT a toss-up !!!

given the higher cost of Brand A 2 years hence
and the cost of replacement labor.

but if the trucks only last 18 months go for it.
