2009 was Economy but a lot of Herc's did show up too. I still like the idea of combining a common engine with a rare engine.

I'm going to Rant a little on Kyle's behalf.

There was over 1300 hits on this thread and only 48 of you voted. You guys talked about everything from Hercules, to Slide Valves. I don't think Kyle was asking about the next 4 or 5 shows. Just your thoughts on Oil burning, (HVID) at Coolsprings some time in the near future.

Kyle would be the one doing all the work to put this on,(unless) someone wants to help him. So lets not let this thought drop so quick. Come on and Vote and stick to the question at hand......DH

HVID's?? no
Oil engines in general, Yes.

Don't mean any disrespect, but HVID's are a vey niche market (like slide valves) If you open it up to the rest of the oil community there will be quite a few more "feature" engines.

(and yes Dave, I forgot to vote, but I did now!!)

Thanks Dave I thought as most Hvid's I got sent to the back of the shed to be ignored as a oddity. I proposed this as I am trying to have a educational experience for all. Most know of the Otto and Diesel but how many know of Brons or Hvid. I would like to stick with the Hvid theme as even though I truly don't know everything about them I feel comfortable heading up a show. I am the worst BS'er in the world and would not want to misrepresent another style or brand of engine. I had some positive replies from quite a few but I would like to have a better idea so I can propose this to CPM. Thanks Kyle

Kyle...

I'll throw my hat in the ring on here and say that I would certainly help out with the Hvid show. I already have one up there at Coolspring and I may have a few more there by showtime in '13.

Paul Harvey's 9 HP UA is on display at Coolspring, and runs OK now as you well know... There is also the Parmaco/Buckeye Pipeline cross-breed hiding in the north woods...

We might as well show 'em while we can still crank the damn things!

I may be able to scare up a talk for the show as well, possibly connecting the Brons engine to it's heir apparent, the Cummins Engine Company...

Kyle k,
Count me in! I have a few I can bring. St Marys, Thermoil, and some English Oil too. Just need to get them running is my problem. Just like my Ohio built engines for next year. The sanderson/cook may be a static display at the rate Im going

If it happens it will be a great show. Now I regret selling my 1 1/2 Cummins and my 2 1/2 Thermoil type "T"

Mike, If you can, you should bring your large St Mary's. I have never seen such an engine other than in pictures or on youtube.

I feel that we have enough engines that would be able to come to justify this along what is there at CPM already. At this point I will pitch the idea to CPM as a Hvid Show. I surely don't think anyone would mind if any other style of oil engines come but as I said in a early post I do not want to misrepresent them. Of course this is only a proposal at this point. Kyle

As far as I know this plan is being brought up to the BOD at CPM. Chase you bring up a good point. Even if your engine does not run or you think it does not run please bring it if the show goes.
