Default Where'd the West Branch Port Huron go?

Just got back from a Thanksgiving visit with the family and came thru West Branch, MI on my way home. About 10 minutes south of town is a wood processing yard that has had a Port Huron steam engine on display under a canopy up by the highway for many years. It's gone now, and the facility was closed for the holiday, so I couldn't stop in and ask.

Wondering if anyone knows where it went ?

Pete

Here's pictures from 2008.

In that year, I had stopped in and talked to the owner. His father had owned it years earlier. Some "Senator" said he would borrrow it and do a lot of repairs to it free of charge. The borrowing did happen, but no repairs were made. Dad died, and the son went back to the Senator later on to retrieve the engine, and ran into issues on proving ownership from both parties. The son eventually ended up with it about 15 years ago and put it on display in front of his business, buiding a shelter for it.

I'll be back up in that direction at the end of the month and will drop by the place to see what I can learn.

Stay tuned........

Just learned from it's previous owner of 20+ years that it has a new home in Stanton among a fairly large herd of Port Hurons !
