Default National Coil Co. type no. 21-31

I found this coil at an antique shop and I havenít found much info on it. I thought it would be nice to add to my collection of way too much stuff. Does anyone know when it was made? What it was used on? Is it worth anything or is it just cool to have? The label is worn so I donít even know how to test it. Thanks for any info you can give.

Google National coil 21-31 and several hits will come up, including an earlier one here and a 1920s ad in Pacific Motor Boat. Good luck.

I know it's been a while but here is a better photo of the label off of mine ( which I need to replace the capacitor in )
